Bio:

Ken Umbach   Born in Cincinnati, Ohio,  studied at the School of Fine Arts, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio; University of Cincinnati; Cincinnati Art Academy; Central Academy of Art, Cincinnati; and the Tyler Art School, Temple University, Philadelphia.

   Currently works primarily in acrylic, watercolor and ink. Has developed a unique, fresh, dynamic ink and wash approach to drawing that captures the essence of the object, person or animal drawn; and rather than approaching the realistic, these drawings and sketches allow viewers to use their own imagination and creativity in order to experience the art.

   Presently working on a series of drawings and paintings using the mountains of Western North Carolina for inspiration.

   An award winning artist, his paintings and drawings are represented in private collections throughout the United States and the United Kingdom.

  In the past he has been represented in the MainStrasse Village Art Collaborative, Covington, Kentucky; The Carol Schwartz Gallery, Philadelphia; and the Duvanek Society Award Exhibitions.

  He is currently represented by the High Country Gallery, Blue Ridge, Georgia.
